E - motion
The word “Emotion” has its roots in Latin and originally was meaning - emovere, from e- (variant of ex-) ‘out’ + movere ‘move’. In this session, we will rediscover the roots of the meaning of the word - reconnecting with our emotions and building ground for them to be in motion.

About the Event
Emotions play an important role in how we think and behave. The emotions we feel each day can compel us to take action and influence the decisions we make about our lives, both large and small. They are fleeting, persistent, powerful, complex, and even life-changing. They connect us to each other and are crucial tools and resources to interact meaningfully in our social worlds. Recognizing and understanding our emotions and reactions is a journey to self-awareness.
However, today it seems like there is little room for emotion. We are regularly disconnected from our emotions in order to be more productive and more effective - a more perfect machine. Emotion began to be seen by our society as a rather uncomfortable side effect of our irrational self. Finally, so much emphasis has been put on cognitive development that we are cut off from our emotional compass.
In this session we will:
⫸ do practical exercises to heighten the awareness of where and how our emotions are showing up in our bodies.
⫸ learn the practice of releasing and letting go.
⫸ collectively explore the impact and role of the emotions in the group dynamics.
